For a long time I haven't regarded my pieces as worth sharing. This perhaps has less to do with my own confidence in my work, but rather the perception that they may simply be too minimal and uninspiring to be regarded as art. While I greatly appreciate the magnificent art of those who are greatly skilled in drawing, painting and image creation by whatever means, I've never been a brilliant visual artist myself, nor have I ever aspired to be one.

What I do enjoy is opening up MS Paint once in a while and creating extremely simple, minimal images that are pleasing to my eye. Some of them don't take very long at all to create, others take some considerable time, but never the countless hours that I know many wonderful artists pour into their brilliant creations.

While my own creations are not a direct reflection of my artistic tastes as a whole, they do reflect my own expression through the visual medium. I've never been a skilled drawer, but I find the simple tools in MS Paint give me everything I need to create what I want to see.

If grandiose imagery is what you're after, please pass me by, as I wouldn't want to disappoint you. I am wary of others' expectations of what they choose to classify as art under their own personal opinions - I fully respect that you may dislike what you see, or think it too simple, easy and uninteresting. That is your right which I fully respect, but please understand that while I enjoy so many varieties of art, when it comes to my own expression, this is all I have to say.

Enough self-justification. Some distaste is innevitable, and I must accept it as a part of life. I don't post my images in order to garner praise or criticism, though both are equally welcome. I've begun posting my work for the same reasons I post some of my creative writing over at opendiary, simply to share it with my family and friends who wouldn't have access to it otherwise.
